About

Hello & Welcome!

This is the blog of Doce Vika Vintage, a vintage design shop run by Norwegian researcher, writer and journalist Claudia PASB.

I love antiques and used old pieces since childhood and during many stages of my life I collected different types of items like chocolate tins, tea cans, all sort of old metal boxes, decorated pewter bowls, porcelain cups and bowls, teapots and coffee cups etc etc etc... Whenever I got tired of the stuff I had I found ways of letting them go. I started locally selling my antique and vintage items online 20 years ago.  I started sourcing items for resale 10 years ago and I never stopped. Most of the items you will find in my shops these days were source for resale and only a small part came from my personal collection.

You will find me occasionally in summer markets around Trondheim area, like Bryggerekka Flea Market but my vintage stuff is available on the internet all year long.

"Doce..." what?

The name Doce Vika means "the sweet bay" mixing Norwegian and Portuguese words. "Doce" means "sweet" in Portuguese and "Vika" means "the bay" in Norwegian. Since I have mixed ancestry I decided to mix things up in the name of my shop too and  "Doce Vika", i.e.  "the sweet bay" came to life.

Once upon a time Doce Vika was a brick and mortar shop where you could find a mix of high quality specialty and organic foods with an amazing selection of vintage decor pieces and contemporary kitchen gadgets. I eventually gave up the brick and mortar shop (after three intense years) mostly because I felt really lonely and overworked... and transferred the vintage pieces to a new online shop and now we have Doce Vika Vintage

The idea to use the same name seemed natural since we are still the same business and Doce Vika Vintage grew into a niche with mostly Scandinavian and Finnish vintage and pieces and mid century modern Czech glass and German ceramics.

Follow Doce Vika Vintage and discover all the lovely vintage stuff we got in stock for you. Consider supporting your vintage seller as antiques & vintages are not only beautiful & unique design items, they are ultimately "green" and environmental friendly. Enough Ikea for you too?
